strassman2Marcia Strassman, the actress best known for her as “Mrs. Kotter,” in the 1970’s sitcom “Welcome Back, Kotter”, passed away over the weekend after a long battle with cancer.

Strassman, who was 66, died Saturday, her sister June Strassman confirmed.

The actress’ sister told Deadline.com that Strassman had been battling breast cancer for seven years.

In addition to the 1970’s sitcom, Strassman was also known for her roles as Nurse Margie Cutler in the TV series “M*A*S*H”, and the big screen movie “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.”

In addition to her sister June, Strassman is survived by her brother, Steven and daughter, Lizzie.
