Authorities in Washington state are investigating a shooting inside a Seattle high school that left two people dead.

The shooting occurred earlier today in the cafeteria at Marysville Pilchuck High School.

Witnesses said the shooter, identified as Jaylen Fryberg, walked over to a table in the school’s cafeteria Friday morning and fired about six bullets into the backs of several students seated at the table.

One student was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other students, two females and a male, were rushed to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett with head injuries.

Their conditions are unknown at this time.

As of press time it was unclear as to who shot Fryberg, who was named freshman homecoming king on October 17.

A motive for the shooting was not available.
