Legendary shoe designer Vince Camuto passed away last night after a long battle with cancer.
Camuto’s death was confirmed by his wife, Louise, in an email sent to his 1,300 employees around the world.
In the email, Louise Camuto said her husband died at their Greenwich, Connecticut, home Wednesday night.
He was 78 years old.
Camuto started the Camuto Group in 2001 after leaving Nine West, which he co-founded in 1978. Included in the Camuto Group brands are: Jessica Simpson, Tory Burch, BCBG Maxazria, Lucky Brand, Sanctuary and Vince Camuto, his own private label which he started in 2005.
In addition to his wife, Camuto is survived by their five children.
